Spirit loved his first 80 km. endurance ride

Mary Jane found Spirit lazing around in a back yard in Arlington Texas. In a matter of 6 months trainer Bobby Ortiz had turned this gelding’s fat into muscle & rode Spirit to a very successful finish in his first 60 km. endurance competition.

Spirit is ultra-calm for a pure Arabian horse, in fact his white eyelashes make him look like he is on the verge of napping much of the time. This big , gentle, silver-grey gelding doesn’t have a mean bone in his body but he does have great bone and can not only carry riders over great distances he can do so at considerable speed.

Spirit breezed through his first 80 km. endurance ride telling us he might like to go even greater distances.
