Take one night and two days to dive into this in-depth Discover Oaxaca adventure where you will have the opportunity to experience the fascinating cultural, culinary and biological diversity of Oaxaca. Explore the Tlacolula Valley on foot, horseback, cycling or by car and immerse yourself in the vibrant and authentic culture that is still very much alive here today. Combine your stay at Rancho Pitaya with two of the following guided activities:

  • Real Oaxaca Full Day Ride – spend the morning meandering through the diverse ecosystems of the communal lands surrounding the ranch and explore the lower lying farm lands where you can observe timeless agricultural practices and horse-drawn carts. This ride includes a knowledgeable Spanish and English speaking guide, a short demo on tips for safe riding, a helmet, water, approx. 4 hrs of riding with a break for snacks
  • Discover Oaxaca Bike Ride – you don’t have to be a rider to discover Oaxaca’s fascinating country side! This  cycling tour requires a min. of two participants and is guided by our reputable and responsible friends at Zapotrek in Oaxaca. This tour will take you through farm land bustling with activity and along magical roads lined with wild cane. Ride through agricultural villages in the valley getting a glimpse of the age-old farming traditions still praciticed today.  This cycling tour includes a knowledgeable Spanish and English speaking guide, well maintained bicycles, water, snacks and lunch, entrance fees, approx. 5 hrs of cycling

  • Oaxaca Flora and Fauna Hike – This hike will take you into the mystical world of the Sierra Juarez mountains, where you will walk underneath wild orchids and towering pine trees. Meandering down ancient trails or cross meadows with a chance of seeing a heard of wild horses. You will definitely see many birds. This hike includes a knowledgeable Spanish and English speaking guide, water,snacks and lunch.  Approx. 5 hrs of hiking
  • Villages and Craft Tour – Explore a variety of villages in which you will visit craftsmen and women dedicated to crafts like weaving, pottery, woodcarving or embroidery. You will have the unique opportunity to see them work in their workshops and discover traditions passed down through generations. This tour includes: knowledgeable Spanish and English speaking guide and chauffeur, water, snacks and lunch approx. 4 hrs.

    Cooking class making our famous Mezcal Margarita

  • Ride, Cook and Eat – Spend the morning meandering along the many trails that lead through the communal lands surrounding the ranch, taking in the varied flora and stunning vistas. Upon your return to the ranch join our cook for a hands-on cooking class preparing your own traditional mexican-style comida. This ride includes a knowledgeable Spanish and English speaking guide, a short demo on tips for safe riding, a helmet, water, approx. 2 hrs of riding, cooking class and lunch
