Overnight Back Country Ride

This Hacienda to Mesa ride can be expanded to end day one in the native Zapotec village of San Miguel del Valle. We ride right into the village, stop to visit its charming 16th century church before ascending on horseback to comfortable eco-tourism cabins with fireplaces where we overnight. This is the last village in the eastern corner of the valley; soak up the sweeping views of the Sierra Juarez from the cabins.  Enjoy a traditional grilled dinner under the stars.

On day two handsome Zapotec women in their traditional costumes waive as we ride along quiet lanes and out of the village. New vegetation appears with each ascent and descent. Picnic lunch with the impressive mesa of Yagul in the distance. Ride into the hacienda where cold drinks and snacks await. Return to the city of Oaxaca at approx 3-4- p.m.
