Overnight Sierra Juarez Ride

Ride along Trails Lined with Mammoth Agaves

This horse trek begins in the valley and ascends more than 5,000 ft. high into the Sierra Juarez. Panoramic vistas everywhere you look while riding through several unique eco-systems. Cactus turns to oak forests that make way for gigantic agaves and towering pine trees at 3,000. meters.Overnight in comfortable cabins in the charming village of El Carrizal where you can experience traditional rural Oaxacan culture.

Day two we ride along ancient trails to the ridge of the Sierra Juarez.  Cool crisp air, pristine streams and preserved pine forests bring us to the end of the riding and a hot lunch in the village of Cuajimaloyas. Horses and riders enjoy a scenic drive back to Oaxaca.

Depart from the city office 8:30 a.m. on day 1 and 
return approx. 4:30 p.m. on day 2.

Cost: $450 U.S. per person / min. of 2 max. of 4.  Appropriate for fit people but no riding experience required.
