Full Day Ranch Ride

Riding out from Rancho Pitaya

Riding north through Palmillo Pass with views of the Sierra Juarez

If you’d like to get a feel for authentic Oaxacan village life, see up-close traditional adobe construction, explore a rare cacti forest and enjoy a leisurely sit-down lunch of local specialties, you’ll love this ride.

Begin this guided adventure in the charming cheese-making village of Rojas de Cuauhtemoc. Ride past horse-drawn carts & emerald alfalfa fields. Trek on your horse through a rare stand of columnar cacti y ancient elephant-foot yuca trees. No other ecotourism excursion offers such diversity!

After the full morning ride return to beautiful Rancho Pitaya for a home-cooked meal of traditional Oaxaca specialties.  On the way back to the city there’s the option to visit El Tule, home of the oldest and largest tree on earth.
