Piquin,
5 years & 14 hands, ½ Arabian & ½ Mexican Criollo stallion

Meet the horse Piquin

Piquin, Mexican Criollo stallion

Piquin is named after a tiny red Mexican chile. He’s our smallest horse both in age and size but like the chile he packs a lot of energy in a small package. This “fire-ant” chestnut is a stallion but so sweet and easy to handle, not to mention agile and eager to learn, that the plan is to keep him that way.

Piquin, like his half-brother Calypso is of a Mexican Criollo mother and the son of Arabian racehorse, High Noon Eclipse.

This 5-year old is working up his stamina on the hilly trails around Teotitlan in preparation of this first endurance competition and in the ring his agility and balance show his prior training in reining.
