Overnight Sierra Juarez Ride

Ride along Trails Lined with Mammoth Agaves

This horse trek begins in the valley and ascends more than 5,000 ft. high into the Sierra Juarez. Panoramic vistas everywhere you look while riding through several unique eco-systems. Cactus turns to oak forests that make way for gigantic agaves and towering pine trees at 3,000. meters. Overnight in comfortable cabins in the charming village of La Neveria where you can experience traditional rural Oaxacan culture.

Day two we ride along the ridge of the Sierra Juarez.  Cool crisp air, pristine streams and preserved coniferous forests highlight the day. Stop for a picnic lunch in the mountain hamlet of Benito Juarez. Ride past majestic oxen plowing the fertile farmlands. Curious donkeys bray a happy greetings as horses and riders pass. Massive agaves line the lanes as the ride comes to an end.  Horses and riders enjoy a scenic drive back to Oaxaca.

Depart from the city office 8:30 a.m. on day 1 and 
return approx. 4:30 p.m. on day 2.

Cost: 10,500 pesos or $550. U.S. per person / min. of 2 max. of 6.  Appropriate for fit people but no riding experience required. Note: This ride in not available June- October
